Prescription Julep Recipe:
Put mint leaves and syrup into the bottom of a julep cup, and gently muddle. Fill the cup with crushed ice, and pour in Cognac and Rye. Stir gently. Add more crushed ice on top, float the rum, and top with a rich bouquet of mint sprigs.

I will always use syrup over granulated sugar when making classic cocktails, just make sure you're using a syrup with a rich ration of 2:1, just like we make here at BG Reynolds! Because we want to add flavor, not dilution.
