Drink History

The Jet Pilot is a descendant of the Test Pilot, a recipe created by Donn Beach around 1941. In 1958 The Beverly Hills Luau Restaurant took the recipe and added grapefruit juice, an overproof rum, and cinnamon syrup. The result is a cocktail that's arguably more popular than Donn's original and a tiki classic in it's own right.
